Produce Monitoring Board (PMB) hosts Cocoa-Coffee Council of Ivory Coast and Ghana Cocoa Board

 

A team from the Cocoa-Coffee Council of Ivory Coast and Ghana Cocoa Board has presented the draft regional sustainability Cocoa Standards for Africa to Cocoa stakeholders in Sierra Leone.

The Cocoa-Coffee Council of Ivory Coast and Ghana Cocoa Board have agreed to take the lead in the implementation of the International ISO 34101 on sustainable and Traceable Cocoa so that they make the necessary improvements to address the interests and concerns of all stakeholders in the Cocoa sector.The two countries are advancing the development of African Standard on Sustainable Cocoa and are reaching out to African countries including Sierra Leone so that Africa has its own sustainable Cocoa Standards that will be vital for the sustainability of the Cocoa sector in Africa.

PMB is expected to take the lead in popularizing the document when finalized by June this year 2020.
