Under the overall guidance of the Produce Monitoring Board (PMB), the Produce Monitoring Officer will be responsible for the monitoring and ensuring high quality and timely inputs, and for ensuring that the PMB maintains its strategic vision and that its activities result in the achievement of its intended purpose in a cost-effective and timely manner.

The Manager of the Produce Monitoring Unit will be responsible for designing and implementing the Monitoring activities as mandated by the PMB Act; assisting the PRO manager in preparing Quarterly/Annual reports on progress made by the institution, and will monitor the activities of the sector on a regular basis, developing and maintaining the MIS of the institution and will be responsible for the collection & analysis of different data in relation to the scope of the activities of the PM unit.

The Produce Monitoring Unit works in close collaboration with produce dealers, buying agents, customs, police, private sector, non-government and civil society organizations

The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and strengthen monitoring, inspection and evaluation procedures
  • Monitor all project activities, expenditures, and progress towards achieving the project output
  • Recommend further improvement of the logical framework
  • Develop monitoring and impact indicator for institution success;
  • Monitor the feasibility and sustainability of new institutional regulations
  • Provide feedback to the institution on strategies and activities to be undertaken
  • Suggest strategies to the institution for improving the efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery by identifying bottlenecks in completing institutional activities and developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks;
  • Report monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual progress on all PMU’s activities to the institution
  • Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring system Develop indicators and a monitoring strategy for the institution
  • Provide inputs, information, and statistics for quarterly, annual and other reports to the institution
  • Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshops and assist the institution in preparing relevant reports
  • Perform other duties as required;
